(re)treat

Over the past few years, one of my inspirations in peace and conflict studies has been John Paul Lederach’s effort to ‘bring the poetry back’ into our lives and into our engagements with complex realities and experiences. I still feel uncertain about whether, when and how to write about war and violence, particularly the experiences of others. But here’s an attempt – (re)treat – for a journal that aims ro be ‘a meeting place of visual art, prose science and more’, dedicated to exploring ‘re-root words’.
